Diane Kappa
From an early age, Diane fondly recalls drawing with crayons, sculpting clay, and sewing fabric. Her mother, an accomplished painter, encouraged Diane's artistic development. Surrounded by other artists and frequent visits to museums, art became an integral part of her life.
While studying fashion design at the University of Cincinnati, Diane discovered silk painting and right away two worlds collided: a desire to paint and create pattern while continuing to work with fabric and form.
For over 11 years Diane designed for a high-end fashion retailer in addition to small, large, and specialty retailers. In 2008, she realized a long-time dream by opening her own surface design studio creatign print and pattern for apparel, home furnishings, stationery and now scrapbooking products.
Diane's inspiration is drawn from the latest trends and life's natural surroundings. Her style is often described as contemporary without being overly trendy. She is always researching and understanding trends, but interprets them into her own way creating a timeless look.
